Target Audience
This activity is designed to address the educational needs of electrophysiologists, fellows-in-training, engineers/researchers, translational researchers, and other physician groups as well as allied healthcare professionals interested in expanding their fundamental knowledge of PFA and its future directions.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this educational activity, participants will be able to:
- Examine the underlying mechanism of PFA and assess tissue response to PFA.
- Review electroporation of excitable cells—depolarization and stunning.
- Discuss clinical application of reversible electroporation to identify the isthmus, followed by PFA.
- Evaluate the feasibility, safety, and clinical efficacy of PFA for ventricular arrhythmias.
- Discuss cMRI signature of PFA.
- Examine Preclinical Results of PFA.
- Review irreversible electroporation for cancer treatment.
- Discuss the benefits of PFA compared to thermal ablation methods.
- Review lesion assessment and minimizing unwanted effects.
